Love & Overworking
Maybe you never intended for work to take over this much.
There are bills to pay, responsibilities to carry, opportunities you don't want to lose, people depending on you, and an endless sense that if you just push a little harder now, things will eventually become easier.
But somehow, “for now” keeps stretching.
You come home tired. Your mind is still at work. Conversations get shorter. Affection becomes easier to postpone. Time with your partner, children, friends — even time with yourself — starts fitting around whatever energy happens to be left.
And sometimes the hardest part is that you're doing all of this for a life you are becoming less and less present in.
There Is Always a Reason to Keep Pushing
The cost of living is high. Workplaces demand more. Careers feel increasingly competitive. Running a business can make switching off feel almost impossible.
There may be a promotion you're working towards, a mortgage to pay, children to provide for, debt to clear, a business that needs you, or simply the fear that slowing down will mean falling behind.
The reasons can be completely understandable.
And your relationship can still be suffering.
You can love someone deeply and repeatedly give them the exhausted version of you. You can live under the same roof and barely feel together. You can keep promising that things will calm down after the next deadline, the next project, the next financial milestone — while months or years quietly pass.
Overworking rarely stays contained to work.
It follows you home.
But sometimes, home is what sent you there in the first place.
Maybe the relationship has been difficult for a long time. Maybe your partner's expectations feel heavy. Maybe there is tension, conflict, loneliness, parenting pressure, or simply too much happening at home to know how to deal with it.
Work can then become the easier place to be.
At work, there are tasks to complete, problems to solve, goals to chase and a sense of control. Staying busy can feel far more manageable than sitting with what is uncomfortable, painful or unresolved at home.
But whether work is creating the distance or helping you escape from it, the question eventually becomes the same:

Are you okay with your life continuing like this?
Because constant exhaustion, disconnection and emotional avoidance have a cost. They can wear down your health, your relationship, your ability to feel supported, and eventually your capacity to keep carrying everything at all.
You do not have to wait until you burn out, the relationship reaches breaking point, or the life you've worked so hard to build starts falling apart before you decide that something needs to change.

Time = Life.
Don't Disappear From Your Own Life
The truth is: you are able to care about your work without it consuming every available part of you.
You may want to feel present with your partner again. To have energy left for your children, friendships and yourself. To come home without feeling like you have nothing more to give. Or simply to stop feeling as though every important part of your life is competing for the same exhausted version of you.
Having enough mental space to notice your partner again. To listen without checking your phone. To have conversations that aren't purely logistical. To experience affection, sex, play, friendship and connection without feeling like they are another task competing for your attention.
So, if Time = Life...
Is it time, to finally reclaim your time and life?
Discovery & Growth Begin With a Chat
When someone comes to me I don't expect them to know and understand what happened and what went wrong, or what kind of support they need. Hence, the Free 30-minute Discovery Call is often the best first step.
It gives you the opportunity to share what you have been experiencing, while I ask a few focused questions to understand the bigger picture and consider whether I may be the right professional to support you.
If I think we could be a good fit, I can explain how I work, how my approach may differ from other professionals, and what working together could look like for you. You can also ask me your own questions, so you have enough information to make an informed decision about what you want to do next.
And if I don't think I am the right match for your needs, I will tell you. Where possible, I will offer you a referral for another professional, service or type of support that may be more appropriate — so that you still leave the conversation with a clearer next step.
If you're ready to stop overthinking, researching and trying to intellectualise your way through this — and instead take one real step forward — book your free 30-minute Discovery Call and let's explore what might help.

How Long Are You Going to Keep Waiting for Life to Calm Down?
There will probably always be another deadline.
Another expense. Another opportunity. Another difficult month. Another reason why now isn't quite the right time to make space for your relationship, your family — or yourself.
The question is whether you want to keep waiting for life to become less demanding before you start protecting the parts of it that matter to you.
If you're ready to stop promising yourself that you'll deal with it “when things settle down,” book your free 30-minute Discovery Call and let's look at what could change now.
